"...and who is my neighbor?" Luke 10. 25-37

July 10, 2016

Suppose we were to...draw the outline of a circle.... Let us suppose that this circle is the world, and that God is the center; the straight lines drawn from the circumference are the lives of people....The closer those lines are to God, the closer they become to one another; and the closer they are to one another, the closer they become to God.
-Dorotheos of Gaza    505-565

Some how, some place, some time we must accept that we are all neighbors. The Good Samaritan in today's gospel teaches the essence of being blind to hatred and division. Who is my neighbor? Where can I be a good Samaritan? Why is it so hard? so very very hard...

Do we really want peace or is it just the quest for victory and being right that we want?
