Christmas Miracles

Stir up your power, O Lord, and with great might come among us; and. because we are sorely hindered by our sins, let your bountiful grace and mercy speedily help and deliver us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom with you and the Holy Spirit be honor and glory now and forever. Amen.

Collect for Third Sunday in Advent.

My mother always called this Sunday "stir up Sunday!" Makes me laugh and cry a little! However, I don't have to look far today to be reminded of how God has stirred things up for me recently. As I work so hard to keep Christmas at bay and focus on Advent and preparing and waiting and the Holy Coming of Christ, I discovered yesterday Christmas miracles happening all around.

Cancer patients telling their stories with peace and love and grateful hearts! Reconciliation in places where it seemed impossible. Channels for prayer where there seemed to be no possibility. Broken hearts spreading love despite their pain.

Light piercing the darkness.

AND...it snowed in the Moran Theater yesterday and Santa came to see Charlie and William, live and in living color!

As my friend Ann said yesterday, even if you have no idea where to put your foot next, leap and the net will appear. That is what happens when we Trust in the Love of the Divine in all things at all times in all places...That is what happens when the Love is born in the manger of our hearts.

Stir us up, Lord, and open our eyes and our hearts so we can see your Miracles abounding in your bountiful grace!
