The Longest Day

June 22, 2019

Psalm 90

Before the mountains were brought forth,
or the land and the earth were born, *
from age to age you are God.

As I watched the sun set last night as far north as it will go all year over what some say are the oldest mountains in the world, I felt like the wind blowing up from the gorge was coming up out of the soul of the earth, the soul of creation, the soul of God.

And then Psalm 90 showed up this morning. Before this beautiful abyss of forest and mountain and creatures was brought forth, "from age to age you are God."

...and so the march to winter begins, a second or two at a time and then faster and faster until the winter solstice,  the days begin to get shorter, and the cycle of life begins again for the first time.

"What is man that you are mindful of him?" O Great Creator Divine. How can we possibly not respond with love to this gorgeous gift of Love, this creation, this bounty?

What are some examples of the bounty of Creation that overwhelms you and calls you to Love and Worship?
