"Lord, I Believe."

He kept saying, “I am the man.” But they kept asking him, “Then how were your eyes opened?” He answered, “The man called Jesus made mud, spread it on my eyes, and said to me, ‘Go to Siloam and wash.’ Then I went and washed and received my sight.” They said to him, “Where is he?” He said, “I do not know.”Jesus heard that they had driven him out, and when he found him, he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” He answered, “And who is he, sir? Tell me, so that I may believe in him.” Jesus said to him, “You have seen him, and the one speaking with you is he.” He said, “Lord, I believe.” And he worshiped him. John 9. 1 - 12, 35-38

The man blind from birth whom Jesus healed had no idea what had happened to him. He didn't know who Jesus was, and he had no idea what a treat he was in for! He was just in the right place at the right time!

Jesus's disciples used him and his blindness to determine who had sinned, the man or his parents, whom to blame.

But Jesus quickly said, neither...his blindness can be used to reveal the glory of God! and so Jesus healed him.

My favorite part of this story is when Jesus goes back to see the blind man and reveals himself ...and the healed man says, "Lord, I believe."

It reminds me of one of my sons's favorite Brooks and Dunn songs. I have attached it here, and I hope you'll listen to it. Like Ol' Man Ridley, remember the times people have said to you, "How did you do it?" and your reply has been "I believe, I believe." There's more to life than we can see!
