Nothing new about meditation

A recent article in the New York Times entitled How Meditation Changes the Brain and Body by Gretchen Reynolds suggests that meditation has become more popular lately and has

"reduced stress and risk for various diseases, improved well-being, a rewired brain."

But it then goes on to say that there is not much proof of the claims, then it says there is some recent scientific proof. Hmmm...

It seems to me that people have been meditating since human time began. And it also seems that just because fewer and fewer people do it, doesn't mean it is not effective and life changing.

I would like to suggest that the current political situation emphasizes the remarkable necessity for meditaion, pause and anything that would require and /

or enable people to think before they speak.

Please enjoy this article and pass it along. Though there is no way to determine what is the "ideal dose" of meditation to improve well being, we all know that even a moment of reflection and inner searching can prevent great calamity. And at this point I fear we are headed for great calamity!
