Leap like Calves!

But for you who revere my name the sun of righteousness shall rise, with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.

Malachi 3. 13 - 4.6

Here we are, two days after Thanksgiving 2018! How can it be? How many times have you had turkey in the last 48 hours? How much stuffing, dressing and cranberry sauce?

Not many of us really feel like Leaping like a Calf! and yet...

The prophet Malachi warned the people of Israel that not revering the Lord would lead to great agony; they would be burned up, left with no root or branch. The people of Israel did not feel like "Leaping like calves" either. But Malachi prophesied that if they revered the Lord's name, "the sun of righteousness" would rise and healing would take place. And then they would experience that primal freedom of an animal who breaks out of entrapment.

What would allow us to "leap like calves" today? What are we bound by? Entrapped by? How can we revere God's holy name and experience the Sun rise of righteousness?

Please join me in prayer today that we might all be free from entrapment and able to "leap like calves," celebrating the glory of God!
