Gratitude, Grace and Blessings
“Remember that my life is a breath; my eye will never again see good.
The eye that beholds me will see me no more; while your eyes are upon me, I shall be gone. Job 7.7
If parts of the book of Job were all you read in the Bible, you might be convinced that life has no meaning, that we just live to work and suffer and despair and that our plea to God should be for solace through this miserable existence. But the Gospel Good News is that we are people of Life and Love, and wherever we look we can be reminded of the presence of God Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer.
Sure, we all have moments of despair, but when a sunrise speaks like this, how can we not remember the magnificence of Creation.
In it I see the promise of a new day, a new beginning, hope and peace.
I choose to claim a healing power from the Love that created this sunrise, that bubbles up in the observer gratitude, grace and blessings. Let us share these feelings with the world even if there is only a momentary relief from despair...perhaps those moments will add up to hours and eventually days, and we will be people of Grace rather than despair.
