Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven

‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me." Matthew 18. 3 - 5

What does Jesus mean when he says these unusual words? Pray as you go suggests we ask ourselves this question and respond with a prayer. It is so easy when you have a baby in the family to watch her and see just what Jesus meant.

Here is my prayer:

Lord, make me dependent on you.

Help me be quiet unless I need to cry.

Let me be picked up by people I can trust.

Let me be "fed" by loving hands.

Let me rest with the solace of a sleeping child.

And remind me that when I am lost, you will always find me.

Amen.
