History Repeats itself over and over and over...

Isaiah 1. 10 - 17

Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean;

remove the evil of your doings

from before my eyes;

cease to do evil,

learn to do good;

seek justice,

rescue the oppressed,

defend the orphan,

 plead for the widow.

In the 8th century BCE (700ish) a prophet named Isaiah and his scribes penned a book held in such high regard in Christian circles that it was often called the fifth gospel. In the first chapter of that book, the words above suggest that the people of Israel have deserted God and will suffer mightily for that mistake.

It is terrifying how clearly these words describe our world today in 2024, almost 3000 years later. When will we ever learn?
