The Lord is Near.

The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4. 4 - 7

Christmas cards are a big undertaking, and I dedicated yesterday to that project. Folding and stuffing the Christmas letter, stuffing the envelopes, stamping and addressing take hours. But when I listened to this reading appointed for today, I realized how close I felt to God as I did that project. Looking at pictures of my family on each card as I stuffed them, the beautiful Madonna and child stamps, and then most of all addressing the envelopes and remembering the people who have brought so much joy to my life over so many years. The Lord was very near, and I felt "the peace of God which surpasses all understanding." I rejoiced!
