"Where have you felt the Spirit give life to you?"

Because of this many of his disciples turned back and no longer went about with him. So Jesus asked the twelve, “Do you also wish to go away?” Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom can we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.” John 6. 56-69

In today's gospel, Jesus admits that people are frustrated by his teachings and wonders if his own disciples are ready to leave him. Precious Peter speaking from the bottom of his heart professes his full understanding of Jesus as the Holy One of God and that there is no where else to go.

In the face of a cancer diagnosis, riddled with pain even before treatment has begun, CT has reached the wall Peter faced with the question where can I go? what can I do? Surrounded by friends who love and adore her, she has never lost hope or given up or "wished to go away." Yet some of us have wondered what to do going forward.

From a highly unusual place, the pulpit in Norwich Cathedral, Norfolk, England and the sermon of one of CT's beloved friends, I heard the voice of God this morning saying "Go to her, take my body and my blood, remind her of the world of the sacrament which is impossible to explain , 'God enfleshed, incarnate in Jesus'."

Just yesterday, a beloved friend and I were discussing the beautiful extension of the sacrament of the Eucharist when it is taken straight from the altar after it is consecrated and taken to someone who could not be in church. If you google Norwich Cathedral live stream service , you will hear the Rev. Canon Susanna Gunner preach the sermon mentioned above, which answered the question for me  "Where have you felt the Spirit give life to you?"

(scroll through to 30.31 if you only want to hear the sermon.)

So today, my answer to "To whom can we go?" is only to do the work of God, to take "a tiny broken piece of Christ's body" out into the world to our beloved CT carrying what we know to be "the life giving nature of that little wafer."
