"Who do you say that I am?"

He pressed them, “And how about you? Who do you say I am?” Matthew 16. 13 - 17

Several times in the last week, I have bumped up against this question, and just as The Message translation above says, I felt as though Jesus were pressing me to respond. So here goes!

Could it be...that Jesus is like the Heart of God, God made manifest, made man, in the flesh, the face of Love, come to life to make God's Love known to humankind. And to that end, could it be that God Creator is like the Body, the framework, all the parts of the world that function with the Heart at the Center. And finally could it be that the Holy Spirit which sustains us is like our circulatory system, our blood that flows through Heart and Body to keep us moving and being and doing.

God Creator, God Redeemer, God Sustainer. So many ways to understand the Holy Mystery of Creation and Life and Love and God moving among us.
