Mark 5. 11 - 16

You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

Little William age 2 ½ at Children's Chapel was not old enough to understand what was going on until it was time to "let your light shine!" and then he really got it. I wonder what church would be like if we all let our lights shine like William.

The second vow in the Discipleship Group liturgy is:

By God's Grace, I will praise God, offering myself and receiving God's love and blessings with the rest of my Christian community in weekly "worship in the beauty of holiness" (Ps 96.9).

What better way to worship in the beauty of holiness than to "let your light shine" in front of God and everyone.

Where have you seen the light shine in worship?

Where could we let our lights shine better in worship?

I might take a flashlight to church on Sunday!!!

(PS. For the full effect, this should be a video but alas, my techno skills are not good enough to share it as such!)
