In the Fullness of Time

Mark 2. 1 - 12

And when they could not bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him; and after having dug through it, they let down the mat on which the paralytic lay...He said to the paralytic—“I say to you, stand up, take your mat and go to your home.”

In the story of the paralytic and the faithful men who brought him to Jesus, we learn the biblical truth "there is more than one way to skin a cat!" I apologize for being silly about such a serious subject, but sometimes God's timing is so astonishing it almost seems silly.

Last night at our Lenten Taizé service, I remembered the same service nine years ago when this beautiful contemplative song reduced me to tears, and I really didn't know why. Last night I realized what God was trying to tell me that night..."Stay, watch, remain and pray and in the fullness of time all will be well."

Like the men who lowered the paralytic through the roof, we must stay, watch, remain and pray, and we will see the glory of God. We will be privy to the glimpses of grace that Jesus promised us when he said we would "understand in the fullness of time."

Prayers that this beautiful musical prayer will bring you peace today...Join us on the Wednesday evenings in Lent at 6 pm for the Taizé service. You will feel close to Jesus, I promise.
