Happy Mother's Day
On this day when we celebrate mothers, some of us feel a tinge of sadness as we remember our mothers who are no longer with us. The memories are rich and comforting, but there will always be a void in our hearts. Some of us feel a tinge of bitterness because our mothers were pained or painful. And some of us never knew our mothers. And some of us are able to celebrate with our mothers who are the epitome of loving kindness and peace.
The wise 13th century Persian poet says it best, I think...Love is our mother.
Anywhere we see the face of love, we are mothered.
This day I pray that we all encounter that face of Love and in response can say, "Happy Mother's Day."
